Kupastuntas.co, Lampung English - Entangled in debt at a cooperative, Agus Biyanto, a resident of Harapan Rejo Seputih Agung, Central Lampung, was persecuted by debt collectors. As a result, Agus and his wife suffered several injuries all over their bodies.

According to Agus Biyanto's confession, he was beaten by 4 debt collectors namely Baron, Datuk, Wanda and Aldo, last Tuesday 4 July 2023.

At approximately 07.30 PM in Kampung Harapan Rejo Baron and his friends went to the victim's residence to collect money from the cooperative.

However, the victim could not pay it, and then the four perpetrators beat up.

Tri Yunita, the victim's wife, tried to intervene but Baron tried to stab and hit the victim's right hand. After the victim was able to escape from the perpetrators' grip, the victim immediately ran away.

As a result of this incident the victim received several scratches on his forehead and a scratch on his right hand as a result of being hit by a knife.

The Head of the Terbanggi Besar Police, AKP Edi Qorinas, representing the Central Lampung Police Chief, explained that the four perpetrators were Sungkai residents, North Lampung, and were debt collectors for the kelling cooperative.

"We have secured the 4 perpetrators in Harapan Rejo, they were at the market this morning," said the police chief, Friday 7 July 23.

"Some time ago the victim's wife borrowed money from the cooperative from one of the perpetrators with a value of hundreds of thousands, and the money turned into tens of millions," he explained.

The perpetrator, said the police chief continued to go to the victim's house, to collect the loan money.

"Because the victim did not have money, the perpetrators were furious, so they abused the victim. As a result, the victim suffered a hand injury from a sharp weapon," he explained.

Because they did not accept that the victim reported the abuse to the Terbanggi Besar Police

"There is no reverse gear at the Terbanggi Besar Police, gass poll, for the perpetrators of crimes," he said.

Currently the perpetrators and evidence are secured at the Terbanggi Besar Police Headquarters for further development. The perpetrators were charged with Article 170 paragraph (2) to 1 e of the Criminal Code, which carries a threat of 7 years in prison.

A number of village heads in Seputih Agung District appreciated the performance of the Terbanggi Besar Police under the leadership of AKP Edi Qorinas and IPDA Panit 1 Rommy Dwibowo, who had arrested the perpetrators.

Because according to one of the Village Heads of Slusuban, Sartono, as a result of being entangled in cooperative loans whose interest rates were unreasonable, many residents ran away and even their families fell apart.

"Many of our residents run away because they are entangled in cooperative loans, and many are even divorced because they are entangled in cooperative debt," he explained.

For this reason, a number of village heads asked the Police to act decisively and prohibit cooperatives from operating in the Seputih Agung District area.

"I beg the police, the perpetrators of this cooperative are prohibited from entering our territory, so that our citizens can live in peace, security, comfort and peace," he concluded. (*)
