Kupastuntas.co, Lampung English - The Bandar Lampung City Fire and Rescue Service noted that during the period from January to June 2023, 117 snakes had been evacuated.
Head of the Bandar Lampung City Fire and Rescue Service, Anthony Irawan said, his party has the task of rescuing venomous animals or animals that endanger public safety.
"For snakes, we have at least managed to evacuate 117 times, where these snakes are dominated from residents' homes," said Anthony, when giving a statement, Sunday, June 25, 2023.
Anthony said that the most evacuation of snakes was in the Bumi Waras region, Teluk Betung Barat and Langkapura.
"90 percent of what our team evacuated were pythons and pythons, and the rest were welang snakes and so on," he said.
Anthony said that the longest venomous animal rescue was approximately 5 meters. However, most often found around 3 meters to 4 meters.
The snakes, he explained, after being successfully evacuated, will be placed first in the yard of the Fire Department. Then, just coordinate with the Natural Resources Conservation Agency.
"We are also coordinating with the Natural Resources Conservation Agency, because after the arrest from the Fire Service it will be allocated to the Natural Resources Conservation Center. We are evacuating for the leading captive breeding sector at the Natural Resources Conservation Agency," he explained.
However, there are also people or from communities who want to keep these venomous animals. However, said Anthony, they must complete several ownership documents, as well as safety standards in maintaining these animals.
"Don't make or disturb or endanger the public in keeping these animals," he explained.
He added, besides evacuating snakes, his party also evacuated various other animals.
"Like cats, then wasp evacuation and horse evacuation rescue and also others," concluded Anthony. (*)
