Lampung Manpower Office Receives Twenty One Complaints Regarding Holiday Allowances
Kupastuntas.co, Lampung English - The Labor Office of Lampung Province received twenty one complaints regarding the problem of paying company holiday allowances to workers on Eid Al-Fitr 1444 Hijriah.
"As of today, the post for holiday allowances has received 21 complaints. These are from various companies and we are also still waiting if there are reports that may be submitted directly to the Ministry of Manpower," said Head of the Lampung Province Manpower Office Agus Nompitu when questioned, Thursday 27 April 2023.
Agus explained, currently his party has formed a team to immediately check on companies that have not paid holiday allowances to their workers.
"We have prepared a team to go down directly to inspect the company. This is the one who reports the representative so we will check whether all the workers have not been paid," he explained.
According to him, the complaints submitted to the Manpower Office ranged from the payment of holiday allowances that were less than what they should have been received to some that had not been paid at all until the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
"There were also those who had not previously paid but just before Eid they were filled. But our team continues to monitor and take action if there is a violation, we will definitely take action," said Agus.
He explained, the Lampung Provincial Manpower Office's holiday allowance post was open until April 27. However, if after that date there are still employees who want to report regarding the provision of holiday allowances, they are still accepted.
"So later we will mediate, we will try to fulfill their obligations. If not, the company will still be subject to a 5 percent fine to be given back to their work because they are still obliged to pay holiday allowances," Agus concluded.
Confirmed separately, Member of Commission V of the Regional Representatives Council of Lampung Province, Deni Ribowo asked companies to be able to pay holiday allowances to their workers in full according to the regulations that have been in effect.
"The holiday allowance is an obligation that must be paid by the company to its workers. So this must be fulfilled. We hope that the Department of Manpower will immediately go to the field so that workers can get their rights," said Deni.
Deni explained, currently there is no reason why companies cannot afford to pay holiday allowances because the Covid-19 pandemic has subsided and the economy is growing again.
"So there is no reason for companies to have difficulty paying holiday allowances because now is the time for economic recovery. And mediation must be carried out immediately between companies and workers," concluded Deni. (*)
