Kupastuntas.co, Lampung English - The Lampung Police Narcotics Investigation Directorate has sealed the Ground Cafe on Jalan KS Tubun, Rawa Laut, Bandar Lampung, because it is open late at night during the month of Ramadan.

"Cafe Ground on Jalan KS Tubun, Rawa Laut, Bandar Lampung, We sealed it because we were found to be open during the month of Ramadan late at night, and the visitors were consuming liquor," said the Director of Narcotics Research at the Lampung Police, Kombes Pol Erlin Tangjaya, Sunday 2 April 2023.

Erlin said that the sealing of the cafe was carried out by installing a police line in front of the entrance on Saturday 1 April 2023 evening.

He emphasized that the sealing was carried out because there was already a circular letter from the Bandar Lampung City Government instructing all nightclubs to close their businesses during the month of Ramadan.

"When the police raided the cafe, our members found that there were visitors consuming liquor," he said.

Erlin revealed that the raids were carried out not only at the Ground Café, but also at a number of nightlife venues in Bandar Lampung.

"A number of night entertainment, starting from cafes and karaoke in Bandar Lampung, were found to be still open, even though the local government had banned them from conducting raids," he said.

Members of the Lampung Police Narcotics Directorate searched from the nightclubs on Jalan Yos Sudarso to Jalan KS Tubun until they found a cafe that had violated the rules and was sealed.

"During the raid, we also conducted urine tests on cafe visitors to find out whether they were taking drugs," he said.

Previously, the City Government of Bandar Lampung banned nightclubs from operating for a full month during the month of Ramadan. If you are still determined to open, then the business license will be revoked.

The prohibition was contained in the Circular of the Mayor of Bandar Lampung Number: 800/519/lll.20/2023 which was signed by the Mayor of Bandar Lampung, Eva Dwiana.

Nightlife venues that are prohibited from opening include discotheques, pubs, bars, karaoke, and massage/fitness parlors. "For karaoke places, including discotheques, we will close all of them for one full month," said Eva Dwiana, Monday, March 20, 2023.

Eva said, in particular, restaurant and cafe business owners were asked not to carry out their business activities openly during the day to respect people who were fasting or closed using curtains.

Eva emphasized that violations of the circular will be subject to administrative sanctions in the form of revocation of permits or closing of business activities as stated in Article 68 and Article 69 of Regional Regulation Number 03 of 2017 concerning Tourism.

The head of the Bandar Lampung civil service police unit, Ahmad Nurizki added, his party would dispatch a team to monitor the implementation of the circular letter.

"In the circular, we will follow up on anything that is not permitted to be opened. Because the sanction extends to the revocation of the business license," said Nurizki.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandar Lampung Police, Senior Commissioner Ino Harianto emphasized that there should be no on-the-road sahur activities and sarong wars during the month of Ramadan.

Ino appealed to the public to always maintain security and order.

"In general, sahur on the road does not add to the solemnity during Ramadan, instead it ends in fights between communities. So we urge not to carry it out," he said.

Ino appealed to the public not to engage in sarong wars either after Tarawih prayers or before dawn. According to him, sarong wars often turn into something that is negative and distorted.

"There is no tradition of sahur on the road, sarong wars or illegal racing. If there is, report it. If there is something that is troubling and disrupting order and security, we will take firm action," he said.

He suggested that it is better for people to do activities with their families during Ramadan. "It is better to replace the on-the-road meal with a joint meal at home or at a foundation. So that there is minimal friction with other communities. This is more appropriate," he added.

Ino emphasized that if there were still perpetrators of sarong brawls, they could be charged with RI Law No. 35 of 2014 concerning changes to Law no. 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection as referred to in Article 76C in conjunction with Article 80 paragraphs 1 and 2, and Article 170 of the Criminal Code concerning beatings with a penalty of imprisonment for over 5 years.
