Kupastuntas.co, Lampung English - The Provincial Government of Lampung is targeting the implementation of the permanent elimination of Motor Vehicle Title Transfer Fee II to take effect in January 2024.

The Head of the Lampung Province Regional Revenue Agency, Adi Erlansyah said, currently the Regional Regulation on the elimination of the Transfer of Motorized Vehicle Title Fee is being discussed together with the Lampung Province Regional People's Legislative Council.

"Based on the mandate in Law No. 1 of 2022 that the transfer fee II no longer exists. Now we are drafting the regional regulations on regional taxes and fees which are being discussed by the Regional People's Legislative Council," said Adi, when questioned, Sunday April 2, 2023.

Adi explained, the abolition of Motorized Vehicle Title Transfer Fee for used vehicles is to make it easier for the public to directly return the name of the vehicle. It will also make it easier for people to pay vehicle tax.

"For the discussion of the regional regulation itself, it is currently in the special committee. Our target is that it can be implemented in 2024. So when the regional regulation has been enacted, January 2024 will no longer have fees for transfer of title," he explained.

Based on Law Number 1 of 2022, there are two additional tax sectors that are entitled to be managed by the Provincial Government of Lampung. Both are heavy equipment tax rates and non-metal mineral taxes and aid.

"So from the previous five tax sources managed by the Lampung Provincial Government, now there is an additional seven. So, the heavy equipment tax was previously included but there was a lawsuit and it was deleted and now it is starting to be held again," he explained.

Currently Adi continued, his party is currently collecting data on the number of heavy equipment in Lampung so that they can determine how much potential can be targeted to increase Local Own Revenue.

"But for the potential itself, data is currently being reviewed. We are currently collecting data to find out more about the potential and we can determine how much Regional Original Revenue we can get from the heavy equipment tax," he explained.

Meanwhile, Apriliati, spokesperson for the Regional Legislature Formation Agency for the Regional Representative Council of Lampung Province, explained that currently her party is accelerating discussions on regional tax and levy regulations so that they can be ratified soon.

"Right now we are discussing and accelerating regional regulations on local taxes and levies. Yesterday we were in the process of discussing it with the special committee twice. This year we are trying to get it ratified so that we don't have draft regional debt," said Apriliati.

The politician from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle explained that the abolition of the Transfer Fee for Motorized Vehicles discussed in the Regional Regulation on regional taxes and fees would provide convenience and relief for the community.

"If you haven't returned the name of the vehicle, you must have a power of attorney at the time of taxation. This is what sometimes makes people lazy to pay taxes. So by abolishing the Motorized Vehicle Transfer Fee, of course people can find it easier. After buying a used vehicle, you can immediately return the name," he concluded. (*)
