Kupastuntas.co, Lampung English - The Special Anti Bandit Team 308 of the Metro resort police, the Lampung regional police arrested 15 gamblers. Three of them are housewives, while another is suspected of being an active member of the State Civil Apparatus.

Chief of the Metro resort police, AKBP Heri Sulistyo Nugroho, through the Criminal Investigation Unit IPTU Mangara Panjaitan, said that from January 1 2023 to March 28 2023, 6 gambling cases had been dismantled by the police.

"There were 6 cases of gambling, consisting of 4 types of lottery bets, 1 type of card gambling and 1 type of dice gambling through a mobile application. In total, 15 suspects have been arrested," he told the media crew, Tuesday, March 28, 2023.

Mangara Panjaitan explained that the suspects were arrested after the police conducted an investigation through tracking using Information and Technology.

"The gambling cases that have been uncovered are a combination of conventional gambling and online gambling. Disclosure of cases began when members of the police conducted an investigation, some of them used and utilized Information and Technology personnel who then obtained the locations of the perpetrators," he said.

In this disclosure, evidence was secured in the form of dozens of cellphones of various brands, playing cards, Automated Teller Machine cards to cash.

"The 6 gambling cases were successfully uncovered from early January to this March. "Currently we have secured a number of pieces of evidence in the form of 14 mobile phones with various brands, 6 sets of playing cards, 2 Automated Teller Machine cards and cash in the amount of IDR 331 thousand and several lottery booklets," he stated.

From the data collected by Kupastuntas.co, each suspect is Suplimin 62 years old, a resident of West Hadimulyo Village, Central Metro District who works as a driver. He was arrested along with his colleague named A Ramlan 61 years old, a retired civil servant from the Yosorejo Village, East Metro District.

The two suspects were arrested on Monday 9 January 2023 at around 16.00 WIB in the JaIan Walet Building, Cut Nyak Dien, Imopuro Village, Central Metro District. When they were arrested, the two of them were gambling a type of lottery.

Then on Thursday 9 February 2023 around 19.20 AM, the police arrested three gamblers in a house located in Ganjar Agung Village, Metro Barat District.

The three gamblers who were arrested were Iwan Syah, 60, a resident of Rejomulyo Village, Metro South District. Iwan Kurniawan, 54, a resident of Banjarsari Village, Metro North District, and Taruna Wijaya, 59, a resident of Ganjar Asri Village, Metro West District.

Next, on Friday 17 March 2023 at around 01.05 AM, the police arrested four people who were gambling in a house in the Mulyosari Village area, Metro Barat District. One of the four people arrested is suspected of being an active ASN person. He is a 43-year-old Gesang Purwoko, a resident of the local village.

The person was secured along with three of his colleagues who are self-employed. They are 50-year-old Muhammad Nur and 57-year-old Raden Sentot who are residents of the local village. The rest is Agus Herianto, 53, a resident of Margorejo Village, Metro North District. Then, Muhammad Nur 50 years.

Furthermore, the police arrested two online lottery gamblers on Saturday 18 March 2023 around 02.00 PM in Banjarsari Village, North Metro District. The two suspects arrested were Edy Yohanes S, 38, and Fitrianto, 45, a worker, residents of Jalan Cendrawasih, the local village.

On the same day, at around 02.20 PM, the police again arrested a gambler named Dadang Riswandi, 42 years old, a resident of Purwosari Metro North. It is known that he is a colleague of Fitrianto who was previously secured.

Finally, the Satreskrim Polres Metro arrested three IRT lottery gamblers on Tuesday 21 March 2023 around 01.30 PM. The two women arrested were Yuliani, 43, a trader, Sahila, 56, a resident of Gang Tanjung and Maisaroh. The three are residents of Kampung Sawah Baru, West Hadimulyo Village, Central Metro District.

Now the 15 suspects are threatened with Eid in prison. In fact, some of the suspects have been transferred to the Class IIA Penitentiary in Metro City.

Dozens of gamblers are threatened with article 303 of the Criminal Code Paragraph 1 concerning gambling with a maximum prison sentence of 10 years. (*)
