Kupastuntas.co, Lampung English - Deputy Governor of Lampung, Chusnunia Chalim, accompanied by the Head of the Lampung Provincial Social Service Aswarodi, East Lampung Regent Dawam Raharjo and Chancellor of Lampung State Islamic University Wan Jamaludin visited the Ministry of Social Affairs, Monday 27 March 2023.

The Head of the Lampung Social Service, Aswarodi said, his visit to the Ministry of Social Affairs was to discuss the proposal for two regional figures from Lampung to be made national heroes.

"There are two Lampung figures that we proposed to become national heroes. The first is KH Ahmad Hanafiah and Gele Harun, which we have actually proposed for a long time," said Aswarodi, when questioned.

He revealed that his party visited the Ministry of Social Affairs because they wanted to ensure that the national heroes proposed by the Regional Government of East Lampung were administratively complete.

"We also ensure and convey that the motivation for submitting this national hero is because Lampung Province has only one national hero. With the presence of this national hero, it can be a good example for young people," he continued.

He explained that KH Ahmad Hanafiah's proposal to become a new national hero entered the Secretariat of the Research Team and Reviewers for the Title of Hero.

"If the general and special requirements are met, they will be recommended and discussed, so that a presidential decree is issued. And for Gele Harun, thank God, the process has been carried out, this year it is likely that both of them will be declared national heroes," he explained.

To note, KH Ahmad Hanafiah was born in 1905 in Sukadana District, East Lampung Regency. In defending independence, KH Ahmad Hanafiah founded a fighter organization called Laskar Hezbollah as a place for paramilitary education for students.

Meanwhile Gele Harun was born in Sibolga, North Sumatra, on December 6, 1910. In 1945, he started his struggle from the Indonesian Youth Force by becoming chairman. (*)
