Kupastuntas.co, Tanggamus - A 70 year old grandfather with the initials D, was found hanging himself in a hut in Gisting Atas Village, Gisting District, Tanggamus Regency, Thursday (23/3/2023) morning at around 07.00 AM.

The victim was first found by Mustiana (28), the victim's daughter-in-law who was looking for the whereabouts of the victim, who had not been home since Thursday (23/3/2023) at 02.00 AM.

"Father has not been at home since Thursday (23/3/2023) ahead of sahur at 2.00, we have searched for it but could not find it. This morning I was looking for it in the fields, and I found it hanging using a yellow rope in the hut," said Mustiana.

Seeing this, Mustiana ran into the house to tell her husband and inform residents about the discovery of the victim. Then the family, assisted by residents, immediately evacuated the victim to the funeral home.

The police and medical officers who arrived at the location after being notified, immediately identified the crime scene and the victim. From the results of the examination it was known that the condition of the victim's tongue was sticking out, there was blood coming out of the left ear, a noose wound on the neck was circular.

Then, there was fluid in the victim's genitals, near the carotid pulse, there was a wound that was bleeding under the left ear and the pupil was enlarged, there was no carotid pulse, so he was declared dead.

Head of the Talangpadang Sector Police, Iptu Bambang Sugiono said, based on family information, the victim had not been at home since Thursday 23 March 2023 at 02.00 so a search was carried out but could not be found.

The search was again carried out by Mustiana (28) as the victim's daughter-in-law in the plantation area where the victim usually visited, but when she arrived at the location, the witness saw the victim hanging from a hut using a yellow rope.

"After receiving this information, the Talang Padang Police immediately went to the crime scene and asked for statements from witnesses at the location for further investigation," said the police chief.

He continued, from the crime scene, evidence was also secured in the form of a yellow nylon rope with a slip knot and the victim's clothes.

"From the results of the medical examination, it is known that the death of the victim is identical to that of a suicide victim," said the police chief.

He added, the family refused to carry out an autopsy and considered that this event was a disaster and a statement was made against the autopsy by the family.

"After being handed over to the family, the victim's body was immediately buried at Gisting Atas public burial place," he said. (*)
