Kupastuntas.co, Bandar Lampung - Twenty-three police officers in Lampung Province, Indonesia were dishonorably discharged throughout 2022.

The Head of the Profession and Security Division for the Lampung Regional Police, Pol. Comr. M. Syarhan, said that the dishonorable discharges had decreased compared to 2021.

"In 2021, fifty-one police officers were dishonorably dismissed. The number has decreased slightly from 2022," he said, Wednesday, March 15, 2023.

Apart from being dishonorably fired, Syarhan revealed, the number of disciplinary violations committed by the police had also decreased from 2021 to 2022.

"In 2021 there were two hundred and sixty-two disciplinary violations and, thank God, in 2022 it decreased to one hundred and ninety people. Meanwhile, there were one hundred and ten violations of the code of ethics in 2021 and ninety-one in 2022," he said.

"Then criminal offenses have also decreased, namely in 2021 there will be twenty-seven people and in 2022 there will be thirteen people," he continued.

He revealed that the average number of violations dominated were cases of abuse of authority, absenteeism from service, drugs and unprofessional investigators in the region.

Syarhan explained, the number of violations decreased because his party implemented mitigation.

"Since I took office from January 2022 until now, I and my colleagues have carried out mitigation or prevention by coming directly to the area of fourteen Polres throughout Lampung," he said.

"Then, I also conducted a sample test of twenty-eight police officers at the Polres throughout Lampung and we found out the problems and problems of the members up to the police," he continued.

He also hopes that every year the number of violations committed by the police will decrease and not exist at all, as a follow-up to the direction from the Lampung Regional Police Chief to prevent violations by members of the Police from decreasing.

"We also have optional activities, professional coaching, so that it doesn't happen again, we also check the appearance, to check individual equipment or inventory of members of the National Police," he concluded. (*)
