Kupastuntas.co, Lampung English - The Provincial Government of Lampung allocated a grant of IDR 1.45 billion which was used for assistance to official religious institutions in the local area.

Head of the Lampung Provincial Government's People's Welfare Bureau, Ria Andari said, the religious institutions that received grants were the Indonesian Mosque Council of IDR 50 million, the Advisory Board for the Preservation of Marriage IDR 50 million, the National Catholic Church Choir Party IDR 50 million.

Furthermore, Dharma Shanti Waisak Buddha IDR 50 million, Indonesian Hindu Youth Association IDR 50 million, Protestant Batak Christian Huria IDR 50 million, Indonesian Ulama Council IDR 300 million, Muhammadiyah IDR 200 million.

"Then Nahdlatul Ulama Rp. 200 million, the National Amil Zakat Agency Rp. 300 million and professional organizations Rp. 150 million. So there are eleven institutions that receive grant assistance," he explained when asked for a statement, Monday 13 March 2023.

Ria explained, there are a number of steps that must be taken by religious institutions wishing to receive grant aid from the Lampung Provincial Government, one of which is submitting a proposal.

"What is clear is that you have to submit a proposal because this assistance is intended for religious activities, so the origin and origins of the institution must be clear. We cannot just validate it. Later our team will go to the field," he explained.

He continued, after a religious institution that received grant aid, it was asked to show an attachment to the use of funds or an attachment to accountability.

"For example, the funds given for the construction of physical activities such as bathrooms must be included before the construction and what it will be like after. If it is not reported, then next year there will be no grants again," he said.

Secretary to Commission V of the Regional People's Representative Council of Lampung Province, Mikdar Ilyas hopes that the Lampung Provincial Government can really verify the recipients of the assistance so that the grant funds are not misused.

"Verification must really be carried out so that the assistance provided can be right on target and not misused. Because sometimes things like this are prone to occur, it must be anticipated," he said.

Mikdar said, with the grant assistance for religious institutions, it is hoped that it can be utilized as well as possible for the success of the work programs that have been planned.

"This grant aid is also adjusted to the financial capacity of the region. So the hope is that the receiving institution can make the best use of it," he concluded. (*)
