Weather Factors Cause Decline in Number of Tourist Visits in West Lampung
Kupastuntas.co, West Lampung - The Youth, Sport and Tourism Office of West Lampung Regency noted that during a period of two months the number of tourist visits to Bumi Beguai Jejama Sai Betik reached 304,519 people.
Head of the West Lampung Sports and Tourism Youth Service, Dahlin said, in January 2023 tourist visits were 164,299 people, this number has decreased compared to last December 2022, which was 179,8010 people or decreased by 30 percent.
Then, for February 2023 the number of tourist visits was 140,220 people, the number of visits also decreased. He said there were several factors that contributed to the decline in the number of visits.
"First, January has decreased because the holiday season is over, so it has affected the number of tourist visits to a number of our tourist destinations in West Lampung," said Dahlin when confirmed. Tuesday, March 7, 2023.
Then the decrease in the number of tourist visits in February was not only due to the holiday season being over but also due to bad weather which is currently flushing parts of West Lampung Regency, thereby reducing the interest of tourists to visit.
His party predicts that tourist visits ahead of the month of Ramadan will decrease due to the influence of several of these factors, but are predicted to increase ahead of the upcoming Eid al-Fitr.
Currently, most tourist visits are still focused on destinations in the Liwa Botanical Garden Area including Ham Tebiu, Sumber Jaya Rest Area, Lumbok Seminung. There is also a new destination in Limau Kunci named Sunrise Hill and Petik Bintang, with camping ground attractions and natural attractions.
Dahlin hopes that, along with the change in weather, tourist visits to West Lampung Regency will continue to increase, because this will affect the wheels of the people's economy which will increase.
"So that the community's economy, both managers of tourist destinations and MSME actors, can be further improved so that in the future it will also affect the welfare of the people on Bumi Beguai Jejama Sai Betik," he concluded. (*)
