Kupastuntas.co, Pringsewu - Dozens of Pringsewu Resort Police officers raided the illegal racing arena on the two-way route of the Regional Government, Gadingrejo, Sunday 5 March 2023 at 01.00 AM.

During the raid, officers confiscated 63 motorbikes and arrested 103 youths who were mostly underage.

The raid, led by Pringsewu Deputy Chief of Police, Kompol Doni Dunggio, involved dozens of uniformed and plainclothes police.

Head of the Pringsewu Resort Police AKBP Rio Cahyowidi, through the Head of the Traffic Unit AKP Khoirul Bahri said, during the raid the officers had previously blocked access in and out along lane two to the Pringsewu Regional Government which was used as an illegal racing arena.

"When the raid took place, the illegal racers and the spectators could not escape," said Khoirul Bahri.

According to him, the raid on the illegal racing arena was one of the Pringsewu Police's efforts to protect Harkamtibmas in the Jejama community.

"Apart from that, this activity also follows up on community concerns that were complained to us when holding the program on Friday a few days ago," he added.

Khoirul Bahri said the Pringsewu Police would continue to consistently take action against illegal racing or other activities that could disrupt traffic flow or noise.

"As a deterrent effect, motorcycle evidence is temporarily detained at the Pringsewu Police Headquarters. Meanwhile, the youths caught in the raid are only allowed to go home after being recorded and undergoing police investigation," he said

He also expressed his gratitude to the public who had provided information regarding the existence of illegal racing and hoped that it would create a deterrent effect for illegal racing perpetrators.

"So that in the future there will be no more traffic accidents that cause fatalities or fatalities for traffic accident victims," he concluded. (*)
