Bulog Lampung Indonesia Brings in 25 Tons of Beef Imports from Brazil
Kupastuntas.co, Lampung English - Bulog Regional Division of Perum Bulog will bring in 25 tons of imported beef from Brazil. The beef is planned to be used to meet the needs of the upcoming Eid.
Head of Bulog Regional Division of Lampung, Etik Yulianti said, later the halal-certified frozen beef will be sold at IDR 95,000 per kilogram.
"So we will bring in around 25 tons of imported beef. We have ordered later that it will come using a container. We bring the meat from Brazil and have a halal certificate," said Etik, when questioned, Wednesday 1 March 2023.
Ethics explained that the frozen beef will be sold when the market operation is carried out in the hope that people can get meat at quite affordable prices.
"We will include it in market operations, for a selling price of IDR 95,000. And this will surely run out quickly because prices are unusually high. And for meat, Bulog doesn't have to, if there is a new demand we will fulfill it," he explained.
Etik also explained that for the Food Supply and Price Stabilization Program or rice market operations which were carried out from January 5 to February 28, 2023, 11 thousand tons had been distributed to the public.
"This is quite big, but when compared to Lampung's own needs in one month, which reaches 62 thousand tons. Bulog in the first month was only able to distribute 6 thousand tons. So only 10 percent of the people's needs," he said.
According to him, this year his party targets to be able to distribute 40 thousand tons of rice through the Food Supply and Price Stabilization program. This amount is still below 10 percent of the total community needs.
"The target for Stabilizing Food Supply and Prices is 40 thousand tons in a year, while the need for just a month is already 62 thousand tons. So within a year we are below 10 percent, only 6 to 7 percent is prepared by the government to distribute Stabilization of Food Supply and Prices," close Ethics. (*)
