Debt Matters, Two Brothers in South Lampung Indonesia Beat a Man to Death

South Lampung - The police arrested two brothers Pran Saputra (35) and Fredi
(29) because they carried out the beating that caused Oki Saputra (30) to die
in the hospital.
Head of
the South Lampung Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Hendra Saputra
explained, the perpetrators Pran Saputra and Fredi were brothers who lived in
the same village as the victim.
"The
two perpetrators were arrested last Wednesday (22/2/2023) at around 14.00 PM,
at their hiding place in Hajimena Village, Natar District," said Hendra
when confirmed. Thursday (23/2/2023).
Previously,
on Sunday 4 December 2022, around 02.30 AM, the victim Oki Saputra came to Pran
Saputra's residence to collect debts from the victim's friend.
At the
time of collection, the victim had damaged the doors and windows of Pran
Saputra's house. Not accepting the victim's actions, Pran Saputra then invited
his younger brother Fredi to chase after the victim.
"On
arrival in front of the victim's house, an argument occurred between Pran
Saputra and Fredi and the victim. At that time, the victim was holding a
machete while the two perpetrators were carrying a wooden block," said
Hendra.
A fight
was inevitable, Fredi hit the victim once in the head so that the victim fell
to the floor and was unconscious.
"Then,
at around 16.00 PM the victim's family brought him to the Abdoel Moeloek
Hospital in Bandar Lampung. The next day at around 18.30 PM, the victim was
declared dead in the Emergency Room," said Hendra.
The family
then brought the victim's body to be buried in his hometown in Menggala. After
that, the victim's wife reported the incident to the Natar Police Headquarters.
Upon
receiving the report, the police launched an investigation to hunt down the
perpetrators. Finally, last Wednesday (22/2) at around 14.00 PM, the Natar
Police Team led by Ipda Suyitno and Aipda Akhmad Ismail arrested the two
perpetrators at their hiding place in Hajimena Village, Natar District.
"During
interrogation, the two perpetrators admitted their actions. Then, the
perpetrators were brought to the Natar Police to be held accountable for their
actions," Kasat said.
Together
with the suspect, the police also confiscated evidence including 1 wooden block
about 1 meter long and 1 machete blade about 60 centimeters long and 1 black
Honda Tiger motorcycle.
"The perpetrator is suspected of violating Article 170
paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code," said Head of Criminal Investigation
