Kupastuntas.co, Lampung English - Loji Akbar, 31 years old, a motorbike snatcher from Nibung Village, Gunung Protector District, East Lampung Regency, was shot by the police for resisting and injuring members when he was arrested by the South Lampung police.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Lamsel Police, AKP Hendra Saputra, said the perpetrator was arrested on Monday 20 February 2023 at around 07.00 PM in the Jabung District area, East Lampung Regency.

As for the chronology of events, on Monday 20 February 2023 at 09.30 AM, the victim Lisa Gustin Fajriyah, 22 years old, a resident of Pematang Pasir Village, Ketapang District, rode a Honda Beat motorcycle with number BE 2278 DAM from Candipuro to Belimbing Sari.

"When passing the TKP in the Bedeng I rice field area, Sinar Pasmah Village, Candipuro District, two people hit the victim's motorcycle riding a Honda Supra X motorbike without a license plate," said Kasat representing the Lamsel Police Chief AKBP Edwin when confirmed, Tuesday 21 February 2023.

Then one of the perpetrators who was riding on a pillion, immediately stopped the victim's motorbike by turning off the motorbike's contact. Then the perpetrator approached and pointed a sharp weapon at the victim. The victim ran towards the rice fields to save himself.

"The perpetrator took the victim's motorbike to Belimbing Sari, East Lampung. As a result of the incident, the victim suffered a material loss of around IDR 10 million and reported it to the Candipuro Police," said Hendra.

The joint team then conducted an investigation and succeeded in identifying the victim's motorbike being driven by the perpetrator, then at around 07.00 PM led by Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Lampung Police, AKP Hendra Saputra, the team moved to the Jabung District area, East Lampung.

"When the team carried out the ambush, one of the suspected perpetrators resisted and attacked the members using a sharp weapon, causing the members to fall and suffer injuries to their right hand and shoulder," said Hendra.

The perpetrator was quite reckless, because the police warning shot was ignored by the perpetrator. Finally, the police shot Loji Akbar in the left calf. During the arrest, the other perpetrators managed to escape.

"From the results of the interrogation of Loji Akbar, he obtained a stolen Honda Beat motorbike from the perpetrator with the initials YM, the result of the theft in the Candipuro area," he said.

In addition to arresting the suspect, the police also confiscated evidence of a silver Honda Beat Street motorcycle and a motorcycle registration certificate in the name of Tohir belonging to the victim.
