Police Arrest Three Electrical Cable Thieves in West Lampung Indonesia
Kupastuntas.co, West Lampung - Allegedly determined to steal a 300 meter long cable, three teenagers were arrested by Tekab 308 Presisi Sekincau Police.
The three perpetrators carried out their actions at the residence of the victim named Eko Muhlisin, 25 years old, a resident of Campang Tiga Village, Batu Ketulis District.
West Lampung Police Chief AKBP Heri Sugeng Priyantho, via the Sekincau Police Chief Kompol Sukimanto, said the incident occurred on Sunday 19 February 2023, when the victim saw that the condition of the boards on the back of his house were open and there were gouges.
"When examined, the victim realized that a 300-meter roll of black electric cable was no longer there. So the victim immediately reported it to the Sekincau Police with Report No: LP/B-05/II/2023 SPKT/POLSEK SEKINCAU/RES LAMPUNG BARAT/POLDA LAMPUNG, February 19, 2023," said Sukimanto when confirmed. Tuesday 21 February 2023.
Capitalizing on the report, then his party immediately conducted an investigation into the theft case. It was later discovered that the perpetrators of the theft involved three teenagers, one of whom was known to be a resident of the same village as the victim.
"Then the team went straight to the whereabouts of the suspected perpetrator, then on Sunday 19 February 2023 around 04.00 PM, the suspected perpetrator was arrested along with evidence and carried out case development so that he succeeded in uncovering and securing 2 other perpetrators," he said.
The three suspected perpetrators who were arrested were 20-year-old DS a farmer, a resident of Pekon Campang Tiga, Batu Ketulis District, then 16-year-old student, a resident of Ketapang District, South Lampung Regency and 18-year-old student, resident of Sekincau District.
"Now the three alleged perpetrators along with evidence have been taken to the Sekincau Police for the purposes of investigation. And as referred to in Article 363 of the Criminal Code regarding aggravated theft, it carries a maximum prison sentence of 7 years," he concluded. (*)
