Two Trucks Collide in Central Lampung Indonesia, 3 People Die

Central Lampung - A collision accident occurred between a Colt Diesel truck
with plate number BE 8638 LY and a Colt Diesel truck BE 8529 DY in Central
Lampung Regency of Indonesia, Thursday (16/2/2023) around 06.00 AM. As a
result, 3 people died and 8 others were injured.
The
accident occurred precisely on the East Cross Road section of Terbanggi Ilir
village, Bandar Mataram District, Central Lampung Regency.
Head of
Traffic for the Central Lampung Resort Police, AKP Ipran, explained that
initially the BE 8638 LY truck was driving from the direction of Tulang Bawang
towards Sukadana.
"Arriving
at the crime scene by turning a corner, the truck took the right lane or went
against the direction. At the same time the BE 8529 DY truck was driving from
the opposite direction, due to the close distance so the two trucks collided
with each other," said Ipran, when confirmed.
As a
result of the heavy collision, the truck carrying the workers resulted in three
deaths and 8 minor injuries and are currently being taken to the hospital.
"As
for the truck, it has been secured at the Agro Traffic Post, and the two
drivers have been secured at the Central Lampung Police for questioning,"
he explained.
Meanwhile,
the Head of the Bandar Mataram Sub-District, Eko Meydianto, has reported the
incident and has visited the victims who are currently receiving medical treatment.
He also
confirmed that the three victims who died as a result of the accident were two
residents of Bandar Mataram District and one resident of Seputih Mataram
District.
The names of the drivers of the two trucks are the BE 8638 LY
truck driver, Afit Fahroji (25), a resident of Tanjung Menang Raya, East Mesuji
District, Mesuji Regency and the BE 8529 DY truck driver, Yanto (40) a resident
of Jati Datar Mataram, Bandar Mataram District. (*)
