Kupastuntas.co, Bandar Lampung - The election for the chairman of the Lampung Province Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) for the 2023-2027 period is predicted to be tight. A total of five people took the registration form until the last day on Sunday (5/2/23).

There is the name of Lampung Governor Arinal Djunaidi, former Chairman of the Lampung Golkar Party Alzier Dianis Thabranie, former Commander of Military Resort (Danrem) 043/Gatam Brigadier General Indonesia National Army (TNI) Retired Amalsyah Tarmizi, Chairman of the Lampung Democratic Party Edi Irawan, and advocate Andhes Than S.

Chairman of the Selection and Screening Team for Candidates for the General Chairperson of KONI Lampung, Rudi Antoni revealed, until the final day of taking the form closed at 16.00 WIB, a total of 5 people had taken the form as candidates for the general chairman of KONI Lampung. "Only 5 people have taken the form until the last day," said Rudi, Sunday (5/2/23).

Rudi said that on February 1, 2023, the Governor of Lampung, Arinal Djunaidi, and Alzier Dianis Thabranie took the form.

Furthermore, on 2 February 2023, Amalsyah Tarmizi took the form at 14.30 WIB represented by Nerozely. And at 15.00 WIB, Edi Irawan also took the form represented by R. Suciadi.

Then, on February 3, 2023, advocate Andhes Than S took part in taking the form to become general chairman of KONI Lampung. Rudi said, the next stage is the return of the baccalaureate documents, which will take place on 6-14 February 2023.

Then, the file repair stage will take place on 15-16 February 2023. Also, data verification will take place on 17 February 2023. Finally, the election for the chairman of KONI Lampung will take place on 20 February 2023.

"One of the requirements for advancing is the support of at least 10 valid vote holders, and evidenced by a valid decree," he explained.

Amalsyah Tarmizi said that he had won 20 votes.

"There are only three that have been written, namely the East Lampung KONI, the Rock Climbing Federation, and the Lampung Squash. The others will follow," said Amalsyah.

Amalsyah revealed that he was running as a candidate for chairman of the Lampung KONI because he has a background in the world of sports. He explained that he had been the commander of the South Sumatra contingent at the 15th and 16th National Sports Week (PON).

“I also served as the Manager of the Sriwijaya FC Team. He was also the manager of the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang," he said.

Not only that, he also served as Head of the South Sumatra KONI Achievement Development Division in 2004-2008, and currently serves as Deputy Secretary of the Indonesian Judo Association (PB PJSI).

"I am retired and intend to return home to serve myself in Lampung," he explained. If he is trusted to be the chairman of the Lampung KONI, Amalsyah said he has a target that Lampung Province can enter the top 5 PON.

"For the short term, regional training camps must be started early. Second, communicate with potential sports branches in order to take a special approach to each of the General Managers who organize national training camps," he explained.

According to him, this step is to encourage athletes to get enough flying hours, so that the projected gold medal in PON can be achieved.

"If it is believed, I will make an inventory of the athletes who will take part in the National Training Center. If you have joined the National Training Center, it means that the athlete is ready to win a medal," he added.

Previously it was reported, Member of Commission V of the Regional Representatives Council of Lampung Province, Deni Ribowo said, the chairman of the Lampung KONI in the future must be a new person so that he is fresher and there are innovations. "So that the development of athlete development in Lampung Province is not monotonous," said Deni.

The former chairman of KONI Way Kanan said that KONI Lampung's performance in the future will have a new spirit, and can provide maximum coaching for athletes. "And that new enthusiasm is usually owned by new people," he said.

He hopes that the new Lampung KONI chairman will be able to give birth to tough athletes, and have a new strategy so that Lampung can enter the top 5 nationally.

"If the KONI management is new, it is certain that they will have their own strategy to advance Lampung sports. Because the burden and responsibility of KONI management in the future will be greater," he explained.

According to Deni, the requirement to become general chairman of KONI apart from having leadership power, must also have leadership experience.

"The requirement to become a KONI leader must also have a connection with the Lampung Provincial Government. Because of its relation to the KONI budget. If he contradicts the regional leadership then it's over. The victims were athletes in Lampung Province," he explained.

Deni admits that he supports the Governor of Lampung, Arinal Djunaidi, in advancing to become general chairman of KONI Lampung for the 2023-2027 period. "It would be even better if Governor Arinal Djunaidi became general chairman of KONI Lampung," he said.

One of the sports activists in Lampung Province, Doni Irawan said he wanted the KONI Lampung chairman to be filled with new faces.

He wants the KONI management to be big businessmen in Lampung, and of course they must have a love for the world of sports in Lampung.

"We have to partner with entrepreneurs to revive sports in Lampung. To be honest, because if you use the regional budget, the funds for this sport are often in short supply," said Doni.

He hopes that in the future KONI Lampung management will no longer be filled with politicians and officials from agencies/services. "Because sport and politics are not two things that can be mixed up," he explained.
