Lampung Exports 100 Tons of Pepper Commodity to China

Kupastuntas.co, Bandar Lampung - Starting in 2023, Lampung Province has again exported 100 tons of pepper commodities with the destination country to China.

The Head of the Lampung Agricultural Quarantine Center, Donni Muksydayan explained, before the export was carried out his party had carried out a physical inspection and carried out sampling.

"This inspection includes checking the packaging code, conformity of volume, type, and number of packages to see if they are compatible with the submission documents," said Donni when giving a statement, Friday, January 13, 2023.

He explained, in 2022 Lampung Province had succeeded in exporting 13,898.037 tons of peppercorns with a value of 7.68 trillion rupiah with a delivery frequency of 611 times.

"While for the type of powdered pepper that was successfully exported as much as 9,315 kilograms or 643 million rupiah with a delivery frequency of 48 times," he explained.

Donni revealed that his party would continue to try to encourage exports of peppercorns from Lampung Province to continue to increase both in terms of volume and value.

"We continue to strive for pepper exports from Lampung to increase every year. Because the increase in export volume will affect the income of existing pepper farmers," he said.

It is known, the Directorate General of Plantations at the Ministry of Agriculture, recorded pepper production in Lampung Province in 2022 reaching 15,983 tons with a planting area of 46,365 hectares.

This number has increased where in 2021 the total pepper production will be 15,589 tons with a planting area of 45,778 hectares. (*)
