Kupastuntas.co, Bandar Lampung - The Lampung Provincial Government (Pemprov) through the Social Service allocated a budget of IDR 294 million which was used to provide social assistance in the form of basic necessities.

"For basic food assistance, we allocate two budgets. The first is for vulnerable groups and the second is for holders of the Berjaya Farmer Card (KPB)," said Head of the Lampung Province Social Service, Aswarodi, when asked for information, Wednesday 20 September 2023.

He said that the basic food assistance included in the Berjaya Farmer Card group was a collaboration between the Social Services who wanted to help farm workers and poor farmers.

"The Berjaya Farmer Card is a form of support from the Social Service for poor farmers in order to reduce the burden of expenses. That's why we are helping to provide basic necessities," he said.

According to him, basic food assistance for farmers is still allocated to the five regions that are the locus for the Berjaya Farmer Card.

Among them are Central Lampung, North Lampung, West Lampung, West Coast and East Lampung Regencies.

"The assistance for the Berjaya Farmer Card group is allocated to five regions. Meanwhile, the total number of basic food packages prepared is 1,122 packages with a budget of IDR 126 million," he said.

Meanwhile, vulnerable groups are divided into several categories. Starting from victims of natural disasters to victims of social disasters.

"We help victims of natural disasters such as floods or landslides. Meanwhile, victims of social disasters such as violent fights, we help. Then there are people who really need it," he said.

Apart from that, basic food assistance can also be given to the community when the Social Service receives reports from the community.

"Then there is also the response to cases, for example there is something viral and there are families who can't eat, so we come down and help," he said.

According to him, for this vulnerable group, 1,216 basic food packages were prepared for 15 districts/cities with a total budget of IDR 168 million.

"The contents of the package are 10 instant noodles, 5 kilograms of rice, 1 can of milk, 1 box of tea and 1 kilogram of sugar," he said.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of Commission V of the Lampung Province DPRD, Mikdar Ilyas, said that he hopes that the basic food assistance allocated by the Lampung Provincial Government will be right on target.

"The hope is that the basic food aid that has been allocated can be distributed to people who really need it. Really poor people," he said.

On this occasion he also hoped that this assistance could be increased. Considering that many poor people need assistance from the government. (*)
