Kupastuntas.co, Lampung English - Police officers from the Narcotics Unit of the Pringsewu resort police, Lampung regional police have arrested a 22-year-old GPD, a resident of Pekon Pagelaran, Pagelaran District, Pringsewu Regency for being found in possession of methamphetamine-type narcotics.

The young man, who is still a student, was arrested by the police on Saturday 27 May 2023 at around 08.00 PM, with evidence of 1 plastic pack containing methamphetamine weighing 0.31 grams.

Head of Narcotics Unit Iptu Yudi Raymond, representing the Pringsewu Police Chief AKBP Benny Prasetya explained, the disclosure of this narcotics case began with reports from the public who were concerned about the rampant circulation of narcotics in the area.

"After we followed up on this information, it turned out to be true and in the end we arrested the culprit when he was stopped on the side of the road, precisely in Polaman Hamlet," said Yudi, through his public relations release on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 afternoon.

During the search, Unit head continued, from the perpetrator's pants pocket, the police managed to get evidence of 1 plastic pack containing 0.31 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

Unit head revealed that his party was still investigating the disclosure of the case and was also hunting for another perpetrator who managed to escape during the arrest.

"Yes, we are still developing this case to reveal the other actors involved," he explained.

Unit head said, if the perpetrators along with evidence have been secured at the Pringsewu Police Headquarters and are in the process of investigation being charged under Article 112 of RI Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison.

Meanwhile, before the police, the perpetrators of GPD admitted that they had been actively using drugs for the past six months and started from social influences. "Initially I was invited by a friend, sir, so that over time I became addicted and left that environment," he said.

For his actions, the perpetrator claimed to be sorry and apologized to his parents. "I am very sorry and also feel guilty for my parents," he explained. (*)
