Kupastuntas.co, Bandar Lampung - Governor of Lampung Arinal Djunaidi revealed that his party has allocated a budget of 750 billion rupiah which will be used to repair damaged roads.

"We already have provincial roads that must be worked on. But we have prepared a budget of 750 billion rupiah in order to build provincial roads which we consider to be not good," said Arinal, when questioned at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Thursday (4/5/2023).

Arinal also explained that his party had proposed to the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) to abolish the division of roads handled by the State Budget (APBN) as well as Provincial and District/City regional expenditure budgets (APBD).

"I will propose that there are no more national roads, provincial roads, regency roads in Lampung. But which roads are not good, we will do them together and it was agreed verbally when I communicated with expert staff and tomorrow the Minister of Public Works will come to Lampung to assist President," he explained.

On this occasion, Arinal also denied that the road repairs being carried out by the Provincial Government of Lampung on the Simpang Randu - Seputih Surabaya section in Central Lampung were due to being viral on social media.

"The road was repaired because the tender had just finished, so the repairs were only after the tender because the money was government money. Not because anything happened right away," he explained.

Meanwhile, Member of Commission IV DPRD Lampung Province, Ade Utami Ibnu, asked the local government to pay attention to the quality of the roads being repaired.

"Of course we ask that the quality of repairs must also be considered. Don't because you want it to be finished quickly then the quality is sloppy. Of course this is what we all lose, the regional government also loses," said Ade.

Ade also supports a request from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) which requires local governments to allocate 40 percent of the budget through APBD for infrastructure improvements.

"With this budget, of course, this will improve the quality of existing roads in Lampung. Because we know there are still many roads in Lampung whose conditions are apprehensive and need repair," he concluded. (*)
