Kupastuntas.co, Lampung English - A total of 547 specifically Muslim inmates at the Kalianda Class IIA Penitentiary, were given special remission for Eid al-Fitr 1444 H 2023, Saturday 22 April 2023.

This was conveyed by the Head of the Kalianda Correctional Institution, Tetra Destorie, who stated that special remissions were given to 547 prisoners.

"In order to welcome the Eid al-Fitr 1 Shawwal 2023, for inmates who are Muslim," said Tetra, his nickname, when confirmed.

Tetra continued, the remission was also a form of appreciation for the inmates who had changed their behavior for the better while in prison.

"The granting of special remissions is carried out symbolically online via zoom cloud, directly by the Head of the Lampung Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Sorta Delima Tobing at the Lampung Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights," continued Tetra.

Tetra detailed, a total of 110 people received 15 days of remission, then 394 people were given 1 month of remission, 33 people got 1 month 15 days of remission and 10 people got 2 months of remission.

"Thank God, a total of 547 inmates received special remissions. And, 5 people were immediately released after receiving remissions," said Tetra.

At the end, Tetra expressed his hope that this could be a motivation for other inmates.

"Hopefully, the granting of this remission will further motivate inmates to continue to behave well while serving their sentences in prison," said Tetra. (*)
