Kupastuntas.co, Lampung English - The Lampung Regional Police destroyed 168.2 Kg of methamphetamine, 5,083 ecstasy items, 995 hexymer items and 91.3 Kilograms of marijuana along with 52 cannabis trees and thousands of bottles of illegal alcohol destroyed from the final results of cases from January to April 2023.

Lampung Police Chief Inspector General Pol Helmy Santika said the evidence destroyed was based on 22 cases. In that case, 31 people were named as suspects.

"This narcotics evidence activity has received a letter of approval for the destruction of evidence from the Bandar Lampung District Attorney, South Lampung District Prosecutor's Office, Pesawaran District Prosecutor's Office," he said during a press conference at the Lampung Police Headquarters, Monday 17 April 2023.

During the press conference, several samples of methamphetamine, ecstasy and hexymer evidence were tested for authenticity, then destroyed by putting them in a container, then mixed with water and chemical liquid, then blended until they were crushed into one and discarded.

"Then the remaining evidence of marijuana, methamphetamine, ecstasy and hexymer were taken to Bandar Negeri Husada Hospital, Jati Agung to be destroyed using an incinerator until they turned to ashes and then disposed of at the Bakung Final Disposal Site, Teluk Betung Timur," he explained.

Helmy revealed that the narcotics evidence that was secured and destroyed, if converted into rupiah, was worth IDR 254,162,330,000.

"Assuming that one kg of marijuana is worth IDR 2 million, one kg of methamphetamine is worth IDR 1.5 billion, one ecstasy item is worth IDR 300,000 and one hexymer item is worth IDR 50,000," he added.

Of the total amount of narcotics evidence, 770,514 people were saved.

"Assuming 91.3 Kilograms of cannabis saved 91,340 people (1 gram/person), 168.3 Kilograms of methamphetamine saved 673,096 people (1 gram/4 people), 5,083 ecstasy items saved 5,083 people (1 item/person), and 995 items hexymer saved 995 people (1 item/person)," he explained. (*)
