Kupastuntas.co, Lampung English - The Lampung Province Food Safety Network Coordination Team found corn oil in expired packaging, during a sudden inspection at Chandra Department Store Tanjung Karang, Monday April 17 2023.

Head of the Consumption and Food Safety Division of the Food Crops and Horticulture Office of Lampung Province, Amalia Rizkiyanti said, inspections were not carried out in order to ensure that the food consumed by the public is healthy and safe.

"There are several commodities for which samples are checked, such as fruits, vegetables, rice, meat, chicken, eggs and food ingredients from fishery products," said Amalia.

The team carried out inspections regarding distribution permits for domestic and foreign products, the expiration date of food ingredients and the freshness of food ingredients for animal husbandry, agriculture and fisheries.

Amalia revealed that the results of a sudden inspection at Chandra Department Store still found packages of vegetables and fruit that only included the packaging date, without an expiration date.

Furthermore, imported vegetable and fruit products such as celery, lotus root, blueberries, berries, plums were found in packages that did not yet have a distribution permit and were not equipped with importer identities and were not accompanied by information in Indonesian language.

"For rice products, all of them have met the distribution permit requirements. We also found types of packaging that were not food grade. As for the meat, the PH was appropriate, the organoleptic color was good and consistent. The test results for the chicken sample showed negative formaldehyde," he explained.

The team also found corn oil in packaging that had expired, and packaged Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises products, namely ant sugar and coffee, which did not include production dates and expiration dates.

"There are also several processed products by Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises that do not have distribution permits, fake distribution permits or do not apply to pastries, snacks, jelly, fruit drinks, candy, peanuts, onions, macaroni, banana chips, crackers and marning corn. ," he explained.

The Center for Drug and Food Control also found 3 frozen food products, namely meatballs and squid that did not have a distribution permit, and 2 items were found frozen potato wedges that did not have a distribution permit. (*)
