Kupastuntas.co, South Lampung - Pedestrian passengers crossing from Sumatra Island to Java Island via Bakauheni Port, South Lampung, jumped by 173 percent on Sunday, April 16, 2023.

General Manager of PT ASDP Bakauheni Branch, Captain Rudi Sunarko said, this was according to data from the 1444 H Year 2023 Eid Transport Post at Bakauheni Port.

"There were 1,734 pedestrian passengers, an increase of 173 percent when compared to the same period in 2022, namely 635 people," said Rudi Sunarko, when confirmed.

Rudi Sunarko continued, to serve travelers, 29 ships operated with 102 trips, an increase of 32 percent compared to the same period in 2022 of 77 trips.

"The increase also occurred in users of two-wheeled vehicles, namely 411 units compared to last year's 263 units, or an increase of 56 percent in the same period," he continued.

For private vehicles, sedans and the like, also experienced an increase of 19 percent. In 2023, 3,848 units of private vehicles have departed for Merak Port compared to last year's 3,237 units.

"For pick-up vehicles in 2023, there will be 512 units, or a decrease of 3 percent compared to last year's 526 units," added Rudi Sunarko.

The decline also occurred in bus vehicles by 5 percent in the same period, this year there were a total of 503 buses crossing through the Bakauheni Port while last year there were 531 buses.

"There are 2,276 units of truck-type transport vehicles in 2023, or a 16 percent decrease compared to the same period last year, there were 2,703 trucks," said Rudi Sunarko. (*)
