Kupastuntas.co, Bandar Lampung - Hundreds of people are enthusiastic about exchanging new money, at the Bank Indonesia Lampung office, to welcome Eid Al-Fitr 1444 Hijriah. Thursday, April 13, 2023.

Even though the weather was quite hot and while fasting, people were willing to queue to get new money in various denominations.

The money exchange cars and the booths provided were packed with people since they opened in the morning around 08:30 WIB.

The long queues were seen not only for those waiting under tents or standing, but also those who used cars to queue.

"During the Lively Rupiah of Ramadan and the Blessing of Eid al-Fitr (Serambi), which starts on the 1st of Ramadan, we have distributed IDR 2.6 trillion in banking and through the community in Lampung province," said Deputy Head Representative of Bank Indonesia Lampung, Tony Noor Tjahjono.

Tony admitted that the exchange of money at the courtyard of the Bank Indonesia office would be held for four days, namely April 13, April 14, April 17 and April 18 2023.

"We estimate that in a day there may be 1,000 people who exchange money here. Because here we also work with 10 banks, with 11 counters provided, and there is also a Drive Thru," he said.

Apart from that, he explained, the public can also exchange non-cash denominations with QRIS.

"But we are 1 person who can exchange rupiah currency with a maximum of IDR 3.8 million," he said.

He appealed to the public to exchange money at official counters provided by banks.

"It's proven that on the first day it's very busy even though we've only had 4 days of this exchange service. We hope this can reach IDR 3.5 trillion by the end of Ramadan," he stated.

Meanwhile, Ririn, a resident of Palapa Urban Village, who had just changed money, admitted that this activity was very good and made it easier to exchange money.

"Unfortunately, we are limited to one person, one pack per pack. I exchanged a total of IDR 2.9 million," he said.

However, he is still grateful because he can give holiday allowances with new money to the brothers.

"Yes, thank God, it's not bad to give the nephews a holiday allowance," said Ririn. (*)
