Kupastuntas.co, Lampung - The Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-Terror Team at the Indonesian Police Headquarters (Mabes Polri) was reportedly involved in a shootout with a group of suspected terrorists in Lampung, Wednesday (12/4/2023) around 19.30 pm.

The attempt to arrest the suspected terrorist group took place in two places, namely the forest area register 22, Margosari Village, North Pagelaran District, Pringsewu Regency and Sendang Baru Village, Sendang Agung District, Central Lampung Regency.

In this incident, two suspected terrorist members were reportedly killed at the scene. There is no further information regarding the identity of the suspected terrorist who died in the shootout.

Currently, the bodies of the two suspected terrorists have been brought to the Lampung Police Bhayangkara Hospital, Bandar Lampung City.

Meanwhile, there were also members of suspected terrorists who were arrested and several others who fled.

During the raid, it was reported that one Densus 88 team member was injured.

The Densus 88 team is currently still hunting for several people who fled, allegedly involved in the shooting incident when they were about to be arrested.

"It's true, Densus 88 personnel are still working in the field to handle the case intensively. We'll update later," said Aswin.

On the other hand, the Head of Margosari Village, Pagelaran Utara District, Pringsewu Regency, Syahril Gofur, admitted that he did not really understand the chronology of the arrests of suspected terrorist plotters in his area.

"I don't understand what (chronology) is like, I know that last night it was busy and many media friends confirmed me, so I'm confused about what to answer," said Syahril when confirmed by Kupastuntas.co, Thursday (13/4/23) morning .

According to him, after the arrest of the suspected terrorist, many police stopped at his house. "That location for the arrest of the suspected terrorist is about 20 KM from residential areas," he said.

He also explained that at that location there were many gardeners from outside the North Pagelaran area, some from Central Lampung, Sukoharjo District and from other areas. "So those arrested (suspected terrorists) are not our citizens," he explained.

According to Syahril's knowledge, during the arrest incident, two people were shot, suspected to be from a terrorist group. Information obtained by Kupastuntas.co, until now Densus 88 is still moving in pursuit of the terrorist group at register 22 in the direction of Batu Tegi District, Tanggamus Regency.

Meanwhile, a source from Kupastuntas.co said that one of the officers who was shot was rushed to Mitra Husada Hospital. But soon he was taken again to be referred to another hospital. "His condition is good, the information is referred to RSCM," he concluded. (*)
