Kupastuntas.co, Lampung English - State civil servants within the Lampung Provincial Government are prohibited from receiving parcels or gifts of any kind during the Eid al-Fitr celebration.

"Although there is no new circular yet, it seems that the policy is still the same as the previous year. State Civil Apparatuses are not allowed to accept Eid parcels," said Assistant I for Government and Welfare Affairs of the Lampung Provincial Government, Qodratul Ikhwan, Tuesday, April 4, 2023.

Qodratul explained, for the issuance of a circular letter from the Governor of Lampung regarding the prohibition on receiving parcels for State Civil Apparatuses, they were still waiting for a circular letter to be issued by the Minister of Home Affairs.

"As for the Governor's circular letter, it will usually be issued if there is a circular letter from the Minister of Home Affairs and other ministers. So we'll just have to wait and then we just have to follow up on the instructions," he said.

Member of Commission I of the Regional People's Representative Council of Lampung Province, Watoni Noerdin reminded the State Civil Apparatus not to accept parcels or gifts in any form because these things fall into the category of gratuities.

"Of course, if there are rules, the State Civil Apparatus may not accept gifts because it is included in gratuities. So this is what the State Civil Apparatuses must understand and also supervise," said Watoni.

He hopes that the Lampung Provincial Government through the Inspectorate must carry out supervision so that there are no State Civil Apparatuses who secretly accept Eid parcels.

Watoni appealed to State Civil Apparatuses who received parcels or gifts to immediately report them to the Inspectorate to avoid being penalized.

"When you receive it, it must be reported, because this is a form of discipline for the State Civil Apparatus. Usually the Corruption Eradication Commission will also issue a circular later," he explained.

For your information, based on Government Regulation Number 53 of 2010 concerning Discipline for Civil Servants, it is stated that Civil Servants are prohibited from accepting gifts or any gift from anyone related to their position or work.
