East Lampung Police Secure Tens of Thousands of Firecrackers and 58 Bottles of Alcohol
Kupastuntas.co, Lampung English - The East Lampung Resort Police conducted a Cempaka operation targeting a number of shops and markets. As a result, as many as 10,050 firecrackers of various types and 58 bottles of various brands of alcoholic drinks were secured by the Police.
From information compiled by Kupastuntas.co, the Lamtim Police through the Samapta Police Unit carried out a firecracker raid in the Murah Jaya market area, Sukadana District on Saturday 25 March 2023 at around 05.30 AM.
East Lampung Police Chief AKBP M. Rizal Muchtar revealed, during the raid officers confiscated 10,050 firecrackers of various types. This is done as a form of law enforcement against all forms of social ills.
"The raid at the Muara Jaya market, Sukadana targeted a number of traders selling firecrackers. The results of the raid found a number of types of firecrackers with a total of 10,000 chilli firecrackers, 20 apalo firecrackers and 30 disco firecrackers. A number of firecrackers from the raid were then taken and secured at the East Lampung Police," said Rizal, when confirmed on Sunday, March 26, 2023.
The Police Chief also explained that previously East Lampung Police personnel had been dispatched to conduct raids on a number of shops and coffee shops in Way Jepara District, the local Regency.
The raid was carried out in order to create a sense of comfort and security during the holy month of Ramadan 2023. As a result, the police secured 58 bottles of various brands of alcohol.
"We have also conducted raids in two places, namely shops and cafes in Way Jepara. As a result of the raids, we managed to get 58 bottles of various brands of alcohol which were obtained from one shop and one cafe. Our target is that there will be many other shops that will be raided," he explained.
The police chief said the raid was held as an effort to maintain conduciveness during the holy month of Ramadan. He is also committed to eradicating community diseases in the jurisdiction of the East Lampung Police.
"Raids at the beginning of Ramadan are carried out with the aim of creating a sense of comfort and security from the influence of liquor, which can have a negative impact on drinkers. It is hoped that the nights of Ramadan are far from night entertainment locations related to community ailments such as alcohol, gambling and localization," he explained.
"We have targeted those three things for raids, and the raids are not only tonight but during Ramadan, we will carry out raids in different places. The results of the confiscation of these liquors are being held at the East Lampung Police to be used as evidence," he added.
He said the results of the raid on alcohol and firecrackers would later be destroyed by the Police. Not only that, the Police Chief also banned on-the-road sahur activities in East Lampung.
"It is planned that later the evidence will be destroyed at the East Lampung Police. Then, there are a number of things that we will convey to the public during this Ramadan it is forbidden to carry out Sahur On The Road," he said.
"It is also forbidden to sound firecrackers or the like, especially to children because it can be dangerous. Explosions or sounds that are generated can also disturb the community," he added.
"We urge the community to jointly maintain conduciveness and respect people who are fasting. Take care of and respect each other in the holy month of Ramadan by not doing things that can disturb residents who are fasting, and for traders not to do anything selling firecrackers and liquor that can disturb public order," he stated.
