Police Investigate Alleged Involvement of People Close to Bank Robbers in Lampung Indonesia
Kupastuntas.co, Lampung English - The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Lampung Police is currently investigating and exploring the alleged involvement of the person closest to the main perpetrator of the Bank Arta Kedaton Makmur robbery, Heri Gunawan.
The Director of the General Criminal Investigation Unit for the Lampung Police, Senior Commissioner Reynold EP Hutagalung, said that when conducting an investigation, his party received new information that one of the perpetrators' families was a former employee of Bank Arta Kedaton Makmur.
"We have conveyed this information to the bank's board of directors to validate the truth," said Reynold, when questioned, Wednesday, March 22, 2023.
He explained that, based on the results of the examination and available evidence, it was found that the legal wife of the main perpetrator of the robbery, Heri Gunawan, with the initials ST, was a former employee of Bank Arta Kedaton Makmur.
"Right now we are still doing deepening, still in the validation process. We will convey the results later," he said.
Previously, there was a robbery at Bank Arta Kedaton Makmur on Jalan Laksamana Malahayati I, Teluk Betung Selatan, Bandar Lampung, Friday 17 March 2023 around 09.00 AM.
In this incident, the main perpetrator of the robbery named Heri Gunawan was arrested. Meanwhile, the two perpetrators fled and were being chased by the police.
The Lampung Regional Police have also pocketed the names of two other perpetrators in the robbery case.
Now, the perpetrator Heri Gunawan is subject to Article 365 paragraph 4 with the threat of life imprisonment or the death penalty. And also Emergency Law number 12 of 1951 concerning possession of firearms. (*)
