Kupastuntas.co, Lampung English - DS 37 years old, a resident of Pekon Sidoarjo, Pringsewu Regency, Lampung Province was arrested by Pringsewu Police officers when he was about to deliver an order for methamphetamine-type narcotics, on Monday 13 March 2023 around 14.30 WIB.

The head of the drug resort unit, Iptu Yudi Raymond, representing the Pringsewu Police Chief AKBP Rio Cahyowidi said, DS was arrested while crossing the Mataram Pekon Public Road, Gadingrejo District, Pringsewu Regency.

"DS was arrested while on his way home from Pesawaran Regency buying methamphetamine ordered by one of his colleagues," said Yudi, when giving a statement, Tuesday, March 14, 2023 afternoon.

When he was arrested, in DS's bag, he found 0.37 grams of crystal methamphetamine as evidence. "DS admitted that he had been a crystal methamphetamine courier for two years," he added.

According to Iptu Yudi Raymond, apart from being a courier, DS, who works as a savings and loan fund manager, also admitted to being a methamphetamine user.

"Profits from the methamphetamine couriers are used to buy methamphetamine for their own use," he explained.

For his actions, DS is suspected of violating Article 114 of the Republic of Indonesia Law number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.

Iptu Yudi Raymond emphasized that his party would continue to eradicate all forms of narcotics abuse.

"We urge the public not to take part in using narcotics, let alone acting as couriers, dealers or dealers, because we will definitely take firm action," he concluded. (*)
