Kupastuntas.co, Bandar Lampung - The McDonald's (McD) franchise outlet located on Pangeran Diponegoro Street, Gulak-Galik sub-district, North Teluk Betung or to be precise next to the Al Furqon Mosque has been complained by residents because they are suspected of polluting their sanitation.

Where, the resident's well, which is close to the place of business, is suspected of being polluted by the waste produced by McD.

This was discovered during a hearing at the Regional People's Representative Assembly Commission III of Bandar Lampung City, Friday (10/3/2023).

The hearing was attended by the District, Head of Village, residents and McD to find a solution to the problem.

Jaka, a resident who claims to have been affected by McD's waste, admits that his well is currently murky and gives off an unpleasant odor.

Previously, since the last 10 years there had never been such an incident. However, since the establishment of McD for several months, this sanitation problem has arisen.

With this complaint, said Jaka, McD had installed a water filter in his well.

"I want it not only to install filters. But to make drilled wells that are not polluted by waste," said Jaka.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Commission III Bandar Lampung City, Dedi Yuginta said, with this complaint his party would go directly to the field to see the location.

"I'm also confused why big companies can pollute the residents' environment. Maybe there is a leak from the Wastewater Treatment Plant (Ipal)," said Dedi.

But strictly speaking, even so, don't underestimate the things that affect local residents.

"So we ask to immediately fix the Ipal, so that later no new problems arise again," he said.

McD, represented by Emil Rustika, said that his party was ready to facilitate and provide solutions to residents' complaints.

"Regarding neighbors whose wells are polluted. First we have provided water, then we also test the well water in the lab for clean standard of mineral water," She said.

While waiting for the lab test results. They have installed a filter. Because usually after installing the filter for 2 years the well water is already effective.

"Because if you make a new drilled well, the water will be the same. So we provide a solution if it is ineffective for two years, then we will make a drilled well," she said. (*)
