Kupastuntas.co, Central
Lampung - Floods occurred in two areas, namely Terusan Nunyai District and the Gunung
Madu Plantation (PT GMP) company area, to be precise, in Division 3 of Bandar
Mataram District last Thursday (9/3/23), resulting in a delivery driver pick up
employees carried away by the current with his car.
"In Division 3 of
GMP, an employee shuttle vehicle was carried away by the river current on Jalan
Sungai Batako, Kampung Terbanggi Ilir, Bandar Mataram District. The name of the
victim is Edi Susilo (30)," said the Head of the Central Lampung Regional
Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Makmuri.
"As for the post,
we have established it, focusing on Kampung Gunung Batin Baru, because there
are refugees, but the number is not much," he concluded.
The chronology of events
is when the victim Edi was driving a silver Mitsubishi Strada car, from
Division 3 PT. GMP headed for Division 4 and Division 6 to pick up employees,
when the victim was crossing the Batako River in Division 3 which was flooding,
suddenly the car the victim was driving was swept away by the current and
drowned.
The process of searching
for victims was temporarily stopped considering it was already night, and will
continue the next day.
Friday (10/3/2023), the
Search And Rescue (SAR) team continued the search for Edi Susilo's car who was
swept away in the flood. The team deployed three boats from Basarnas Lampung.
The commander of the
Lampung SAR team, Roby Heru, said that his party was conducting a search around
the incident location with a radius of 1.5 KM on the GMP 3rd Division Batako
River.
"We dispatched 3
rescue rubber boats and a wooden boat to investigate the incident. We also used
mines attached to large magnets," said Roby, when questioned.
Kupastuntas.co
monitoring at the location, a number of SAR team personnel together with
Central Lampung Police personnel and GMP are currently searching for victims.
Fortunately, in the
afternoon at 17.25 PM about 500 meters from the location point, Edi Susilo was
found by the SAR Team.
Head of Basarnas for
Lampung Province, Deden Ridwansyah explained, the team conducted a search from
Thursday (9/3) to Friday (10/3). And finally the body of Edi Susilo (30) was
found.
"Our team did dives
at several points, and also used manual tools using ropes and anchors, to look
for the whereabouts of the drifting vehicles. Thank God, just before maghrib,
the body was found," said Deden.
One of the female SAR
teams named Putri explained that the victim was found not far from the diving
officer's point, about 20 meters. Putri said local residents were the first to
see the floating victim.
"We immediately
approached, and put on the boat, if you see the position of the victim's head
full of mud. In fact, usually within 24 hours, a person who is submerged in the
water will float because the gas in their body comes out," said Putri.
"The depth of the
river is 5 to 7 meters and is full of mud under it. As for the vehicle, that is
the company's business, we only focus on the victims," Putri concluded.
