Bad Weather, Attractions in West Lampung Lack of Visitors
Kupastuntas.co, Lampung English - The recent bad weather in West Lampung Regency has had an impact on the tourism sector.
This is because visitors to a number of tourist objects have decreased significantly, in fact there were almost no visitors.
Based on Kupastuntas.co observations at the Liwa Botanical Garden on Saturday 11 March 2023, the conditions were different from normal days, the visit looked quiet and there was not a single tourist activity coming.
This condition was also justified by the Head of Liwa Botanical Garden Management, Khoirul Ummur. According to him, the number of tourist visits in the past week has indeed decreased compared to previous days, there were barely any visitors.
This is influenced by weather factors that have occurred recently on Bumi Sekala Bekhak.
"Yes, because it has been raining continuously for a week, it has affected our tourist visits. There are visitors, but maybe only one or two people," said Khoirul, when confirmed, Saturday, March 11, 2023 afternoon.
He added, on normal days tourist visits on KRL could be 15-20 people a day, this number could increase during weekend holidays and long holidays. Even during the New Year's holiday, tourist visits could reach up to 550 tourists a day.
Tourist visits to the Liwa Botanical Gardens are currently still dominated by local tourists, there are also those who come from outside the area such as the West Coast, Way Kanan and South Sumatra when the long holiday season arrives.
He also hopes that tourist visits to the Liwa Botanical Garden as well as to a number of other destinations can increase again in order to boost the economy.
The West Lampung Regency Government, through the Sports and Tourism Youth Service, noted that in the two months from January to February, only 304,519 tourists visited Bumi Sekala Bekhak.
The decline in the number of tourist arrivals in the last two months was influenced by a number of factors, including the long holiday that was over and the weather that had recently been flushing parts of West Lampung.
"In January it has decreased because the holiday season is over, so it has affected the number of tourist visits," said Head of the West Lampung Sports and Tourism Youth Service, Dahlin.
Then the decrease in the number of tourist visits in February was not only due to the holiday season being over, but also due to bad weather which is currently flushing parts of West Lampung. (*)
